boston, our ancient nemesis
fans. the long inexplicable wait is over. micah and jesse are living in the same metropolitan area again. specifically, boston. and we’re revving up the dadmobile.
(important note: this is a slangy way of saying that the young dads are going to be performing shows again. it is not a reference to the DadMobile™, a sexual appliance manufactured briefly in the 1990s by the marital-aid company More Than A Feeling Inc., which closed in 1993 after the DadMobile™ caused roughly two dozen men to suffocate, fatally, through their penises. the young dads would like to emphasize that that is not the “dadmobile” that we are “revving up.”)
in conclusion, the young dads are going to be performing shows again, largely in the boston area. more soon.
people people! relive the magic of edinburgh, except with somewhat less horrifying food. this saturday, bar 4, brooklyn, 9pm.
it’s our newsletter on facebook!
club passim on thursday
we’re back home! oh man! scotland was incredible! we are probably about to write an overdue newsletter about it! but in the meantime, you should know about our show on thursday the 9th!! in boston!! specifically, it’s at club passim in harvard square! 7:30-9pm! whoa!!
three shows left!
we only have three shows left in edinburgh! that’s bonkers like Gompers. The Fringe Review called our show “very funny” and “a theatrical bonanza,” telling you to “go see it.” bam!
(actually, it’s even more bonkers than Gompers; Samuel Gompers was a 19th-century labor leader not particularly known for being bonkers. maybe it’s time to retire the phrase “bonkers like Gompers.”)
the guy in this picture keeps coming up to us after shows and excitedly offering to “represent” us. to whom, guy? who do you know in the industry? you’re like twenty thousand years old.
day 20
we’re now 15 shows into our run. our audiences continue to be noteworthily kick-ass. and on this particular friday night, we’re sitting around drinking belhaven and watching the second lord of the rings movie. in other words, life is magnificent. by nightfall, this apartment will be swarming with orcs.
extreme props to the fans who are making our facebook page blow up right now!
day 19
awww snap. after tonight’s show, we’re heading to the ANTI-HOOT at the gilded balloon, 12:30-3am. it’s an open mic, and i think it’s free. the only thing is, you’re not allowed to hoot.
OCH AYE
yesterday was our much-awaited day off! somewhere in this landscape, one of us is romping. the other one is asleep.
day 15: sellouts
people, people. we’ve had nonstop awesome crowds for a week now, culminating in our first full-capacity audiences on thursday and saturday, and we want to thank you for coming out to support the world’s foremost bass-and-cajón comedy duo. to celebrate, later tonight we will do about an hour of the box-step in the living room, with no music, while staring rigidly at the wall. work hard, play hard!
